Surgical Statistics
Since the opening of its surgical operating rooms in January 1994 more than 43.000 eye operations have been performed in the Augenklinik Universitätsallee. The emphasis having been thoughout on vitreoretinal operations (17.600 procedures). These very complex operations constitute almost half of our activity. Performing more than 1000 such procedures annually and considering that we are proficient in the whole spektrum of vitreoretinal surgery from the least complicated vitrectomy to the most difficult procedure imaginable (macular translocation), we are considered to be one of the most experienced units of its kind.
