Philosophy
The Augenklinik Universitätsallee endeavours to improve, restore or improve the visual function of the patients in its care by applying the highest quality processes and using the most modern methods known in ophthalmology, in a most efficient and patient-friendly infrastructure and to disseminate the knowledge gained in the process to the benefit of society and future generations.
Vision
The Augenklinik Universitätsallee was founded to provide an efficient, cost-effective and patient-friendly alternative to a paralyzed and outdated health system in which, due to a strict division between in- and outpatient treatment, patients undergoing eye surgery are being unnecessarily confined to hospital beds in blatant disregard for their personal rights.
By setting a positive example it endeavours to demonstrate to decision makers in the health system that the most complex ophthalmological procedures can be performed without the classic hospital setting with comparable or even better quality and results, provided a suitable infrastructure with a fitting form and degree of organization and a high degree of medical competence are available.

- ...we will include you as an informed partner in all necessary decisions
- ...that we will help to solve any problems or discomfort they might have
- ...that we will strive to keep waiting times to a minimum. Should nevertheless the circumstances result in undue long waiting times we will explain the reasons and do everything in our power to use up as little of the patients' valuable time as necessary
- ...that we will prioritize the treatment and defer routine tasks
- ...we will uphold medical confidentiality at all times
- ...that we will only perform costly investigations that in the individual circumstance is likely to provide a diagnostic or therapeutic benefit
- ...we will at all times observe the laws, the medical code of conduct and the medical guidelines. We in particular do not pay illicit payments to referring doctors since it should be the free decision of a patient, which doctor he wants to consult and since referrals should be done exclusively on medical grounds
- ...that in emergency situations we will undertake everything necessary to ensure speedy and safe therapy
