March 2009 | Finally: the AKU-own Operating Rooms in Operation
After months of planning and at times hectic building activities the great day finally came in March: our own ORs cold be put into operation. At long last we could operate within our own building again. For a whole year the patients and the surgical team had to e shuttled 700m to an outlying surgical infrastructure. Now the walks are shorter, the work flow easier, the bistro closer and the waiting times reduced – for our patients, their families and us an invaluable improvement.
